What we do

Rockinghorse Children’s Charity supports sick and disabled children across Sussex.  We support babies, children and young people, along with their families, at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex.

The places we support

We are the official charity of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton.

We also support the Special care Baby Unit in the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath along with paediatric wards and specialist neonatal units, across Sussex.

Along with hospital settings, our support also includes funding projects in other children’s settings such as specialist schools for children with learning disabilities, respite centres for children and young people with autism and challenging behaviours and community outreach teams providing specialist support to children and families in their homes.

Our projects

Working in partnership with local hospitals, respite centres and specialist services, we fund projects which focus on improving children’s physical and emotional well-being, while providing additional support services for parents and carers.

We provide lifesaving medical equipment, toys and play resources, environments and spaces that help children feel more at home when they are in hospital, activities to help young people get away from hospital and have fun, ground-breaking research in paediatric medicine and additional staff to ensure kids get the best possible care.
