Therapeutic Room Rennovations

Therapeutic Room Rennovations
The Paediatric Psychology Support Service at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital is made up of 16 therapists who support patients between the ages of two and 18, along with their families.
Their sessions span a range of medical specialties and support issues around trauma, preparing for medical procedures, family therapy and helping children and their families to cope with the emotional impact that a physical health diagnosis can bring.
Currently the rooms, having been re-purposed from office spaces, aren’t suitable as therapeutic spaces, and desperately need new furniture, lighting and decoration.
This will create a calming environment to help patients explore their issues, improve their engagement with the service and indirectly improve their physical health outcomes and how well they feel able to engage with medical procedures.
