Preparation Tools

Preparation tools

The Play Team at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital often work with children to help them prepare for a procedure at the hospital.

In order to help them do this, we are funding a range of new tools to help children, young people and their families know what to expect while they are in the hospital.

This will include dolls and picture books to help describe and visualise a procedure before it happens. These will help children and young people respond better to treatment, making it easier for medical staff to do their work and reducing the need for a general anaesthetic, speeding up the whole process.
