Portable Otoscope

Portable Otoscope
We are funding a new portable otoscope for the Emergency Department at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.
This is a vital piece of equipment for NHS staff when assessing the children that come into the department because it’s used to asses a child’s ears, looking for signs of infection or foreign bodies.
The department sees around 3,000 children each year and the single otoscope they already have is fixed to the wall in a consulting room in the waiting area. This version is on wheels and so much more flexible, removing the need for clinicians and families to move to another room for treatment. It also means they don’t have to move from a child-friendly room to a plain, clinical and often frightening environment.
