As many as 50 children visit the day ward at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital every day, either to have a pre-assessment appointment or to have day surgery.
By funding some new and much needed toys, children waiting for procedures or appointments can be distracted, meaning they are less anxiety and a have a more enjoyable hospital experience, particularly if they are fasting before surgery.
