Breast Feeding Pumps

Breast-Feeding Pumps
To enable the Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU) to continue working towards their Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) gold standard award, we have agreed to fund four new breast-feeding pumps, two for TMBU in Brighton and two for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.
These additional pumps will mean that there is one machine per two beds at each site.
Further funding has been agreed to purchase six programme cards which will upgrade the six existing pumps so that they all have the same programmes available to new mothers.
These include the initiate mode which is a gentler setting that can be used in the first five days. With this programme available, new mothers can start to express earlier, often as early as six hours after birth.
