The Rockinghorse bus

Brighton & Hove Buses have dedicated a bus to us as part of our Charity of the Year partnership.

The bus, which marked our Golden Jubilee anniversary last year, pays homage to Rockinghorse founder, Dr Trevor Mann, and bears his name on the front. Dr Trevor Mann founded our charity in 1967 having recognised that there was a real need for additional resources in Sussex to improve health care for sick children and babies. Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus have chosen Rockinghorse as their Charity of the Year and the bus was launched in October 2016.

Martin Harris, Brighton & Hove Buses Managing Director, said: “Rockinghorse is a charity close to the heart of many of our colleagues and customers. Many of Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus employees have family members who have received help from the charity.”

Nick Stepney, Bus Company Senior Supervisor, added: “In February 2016, my grand-daughter was born 14 weeks premature and weighed only two pounds and six ounces. The Trevor Mann Baby Unit was instrumental in nursing her through early development to reach a healthy weight. We can’t thank Rockinghorse enough for the support they have given us so it’s great that they are our Charity of the Year.”

The bus which is out and about on the roads of Brighton, Hove and across Sussex, celebrates our 50th anniversary with a bold white and gold design incorporating our celebratory golden rocking horse logo. Have you seen it? Tweet us a picture to @Rockinghorse67 #RockingBus
