The Entertainer toy shop in Churchill Square offered a fantastic trolley dash around their brand-new store in support of Rockinghorse
Anyone with children who lives in or near Brighton will probably already know the exact location of The Entertainer toy shop in Churchill Square. It’s a child’s dream with toys, games, bikes and activities for all ages. And now, with a newly updated shop in Churchill Square, there’s even more choice.
To celebrate their grand re-opening, they invited a representative from Rockinghorse to take part in a trolley dash around the store to collect toys for children in hospital.
Local Brighton resident Amelie Roseblade came along to help out and when she arrived, a queue had already started to form of people waiting to explore the new shop.
Amelie was tasked with collecting as many toys as she could for children in hospital so before she set off, she was invited to look round and plan her route so as to make the best use of her time.
As the clock got to 9:20am there was a count down and she was off! Running around collecting soft toys, dolls, action figures, character toys, loom bands and anything she could get her hands on. All around the shop she was cheered on by the shop manager, area manager and lovely staff who all wanted her to get as many toys as she could.
And luckily for us, Amelie managed to get an amazing £400 worth of toys – moving so quickly that even the photographer struggled to keep up with her!
Following the dash, Amelie was invited to join in the official opening of the store by helping to cut the ribbon.
After the event Amelie said, “It was so exciting and I got so many toys for the hospital! My favourites are cuddly toys but I got loads of different sorts, I really wanted to get some Dog Man and loom bands because all my friends like them. They gave me some of the ribbon from the ribbon cutting to take home and I’m going to put it up in my room.”
Amelie’s mum Rachel added, “It’s such a fantastic way to celebrate opening a new shop. It was an extraordinarily fun thing for Amelie to get to do, all of her family came down to watch, and it makes it even more exciting to know the toys will put a smile on the face of children going through really tough times up at the hospital.”
Emily Wootton, Events Lead at The Entertainer, added, “We were so pleased to be able to support such a great local charity with the trolley dash. We understand how important toys and games are for children, especially those that are stuck in hospital, so we’re more than happy to be able to help Rockinghorse.
“And well done to Amelie for doing such a great job! We’re sure that all the things she chose will help lots of children and young people around Sussex.”
