It may surprise you to know, but we do not receive any government funding and therefore rely on the generosity of individuals, community groups, companies and trusts.

As a Brighton-based charity supporting sick children from across Sussex, we are very lucky to receive fantastic support from many local businesses…breatheHR is one such company making a regular contribution to Rockinghorse, helping us to really make a difference.

Based in Southwater, they provide HR software solutions and have been supporting our work since October 2014. They make a monthly donation for each new client signing up to breatheHR and have so far donated a fantastic £3,532.50! As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton, we raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, as well as ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs.

The money breatheHR have donated over the past 15 months have contributed to some much-needed projects at the Alex, as well as those at the neighbouring Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton, and its sister-site, the Special Care Baby Unit in Haywards Heath, of which we are a vital supporter to both.

Jonathan Richards, Managing Director at breatheHR, said: “I think it’s important that businesses support their local community and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to help with the fantastic work that Rockinghorse do at the Alex.  Our ‘buy 1 give 1’ model means that giving is hard wired into what we do and the more successful we are, the more we contribute.”

Jade Hunt, Corporate Fundraiser at Rockinghorse, added: “It is thanks to local businesses like breatheHR that we are able to continue to make life better for sick babies, children and teenagers across Sussex. We are extremely grateful to the breatheHR team for their support and look forward to continuing our work with them in the future.”
