The Grand Brighton launches Christmas Wish campaign
The Grand Hotel in Brighton held a festive extravaganza yesterday (Wednesday 28 November) inviting guests and the community to celebrate the launch of their Christmas Wish campaign and festive light displays.
As one of The Grand’s chosen charities, we were delighted to be invited to enjoy the festivities. We were joined by Amy and Chloe from the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) Play Team, and parents Luke and Chloe joined by daughter’s Grace (age 5) and Poppy (age 18 months).
The family spent almost a year in and out of the Alex whilst Poppy received treatment at the children’s hospital. As the official fundraising arm of the Alex, we were delighted to have the family join us for the all-important task of switching on the lights.
With the hotel’s refreshed façade revealed after months of restoration work, the Grand Brighton showcased its beautiful exterior with a showstopping display of light projections, while its iconic interiors were dressed in stunning festive decorations.
The evening began with Christmas carol singing by members of Westdene Primary at 5.30pm, with our special guests switching on the Christmas lights at 6pm.
The event also marked the launch of The Grand’s Christmas Wish Campaign which is supporting three charities including Rockinghorse. The Christmas Wishes are available to purchase for a £1 donation, with all proceeds being collated and distributed to the three charities.
Participants will enjoy taking a moment to write a wish before heading to the iconic Grand staircase to hang it on the incredible gold garland extending the entire seven-floor stairwell.
Andrew Mosley, General Manager at The Grand Brighton, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed sharing this occasion with the Brighton community and our guests, further celebrating our completed façade and kicking off the festive season in style. Our Christmas Wish campaign will be a lovely way for everyone to make their own mark as part of our history, leaving their wishes on our iconic staircase, but mostly ensuring that we’re giving back to some truly amazing local causes.”Back to news
