The Easter Bunny made a visit to the Rockinghorse Easter party last week at the Hilton Metropole, Brighton.
Over fifty children and their families came along to a special Easter party, especially for outpatients from the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.

Every year Rockinghorse organise a party for outpatients from the hospital, usually around Christmas time, but this is the first time we’ve been able to organise one since 2019 due to the COVID pandemic and other factors, so everyone was very excited.
The party is a great chance for children, siblings and their parents and carers to come along and have some fun together.
At this event, a special Easter party at the Hilton Metropole in Brighton, there were lots of things for the children to enjoy, such as a DJ, a magician and entertainer, a face painter and lots of lovely party food.

There was also a toy tombola where children could win some lovely prizes, and the party finished with a very special visit from the Easter Bunny who delivered eggs for all the children.
Clemmie brought her son Alex to the party. Alex is 20 months old and has a rare genetic condition. Clemmie said, ‘The Alex is like our second home, we’ve spent 181 days there since Alex was born in 2021.’
Emilia, aged 12, also came along with her cousin Jo. Emelia spent time in the Special Care Baby Unit when she was born and has been having care at the Alex for most of her childhood.
Emelia and Jo really loved the tombola and learning how to make balloon animals.

This family is Willian, Noam and Vanina. Noam has been a regular visit to the Alex since 2018 and the whole family really enjoyed the party.
Rhian Walsh, Finance and Operations Director at Rockinghorse, was at the party along with her sons Iestyn and Osian. Rhian said, ‘We were so glad to be able to put finally on a party for the outpatients after such a long time. We’ve all really missed getting everyone together to have some fun.
“It was really lovely to meet so many families on the day that get support from the amazing NHS staff at the hospital. The party was such great fun and we even had a visit from the Easter Bunny!’
This party is only possible because of the generous donations of our supporters. Without your help, events like this simply wouldn’t happen – you put smiles on the faces of children and their families and that’s priceless.
