On International Thank You day, the Rockinghorse team spent the day thanking our wonderful supporters.
Sometimes it’s hard to put into words the gratitude we feel towards our supporters for everything they do for us.
Every day, every month, every year, they really do go above and beyond to support us.
From local businesses and corporate partners who sponsor events and organise amazing team challenges, to individuals pushing themselves to their limit in the name of fundraising.
From local schools and community groups to national Trusts and Foundations, not to mention our wonderful volunteers, and everyone who runs, swims, cycles, bakes, fundraises or cheers us on, we couldn’t do it without them.
So, when we saw that 7 July was International Thank You Day, we saw a chance to really show our appreciation.
The idea was a simple one; a Thank-a-Thon where each member of the team took time during the day to contact our supporters with one simple message; Thank you.
The whole team, including one of our Trustees, wrote cards, sent emails and picked up the phone to speak to as many people as possible to express our thanks and gratitude.
Working in a small charity, life can be hectic. We are always working so hard to organise events, apply for funding, and organise the delivery of projects at the hospitals we support. This means we don’t always get a chance to really stop and thank everyone who makes this work possible.
But we saw this special day as a perfect chance to put this right.
And it was so lovely to be able to just say thank you to so many people without asking for anything in return.
So, here’s to all our wonderful supporters! Your kindness helps us support sick babies, children and young people across Sussex, bringing comfort, care, joy and vital support to families when they need it most.
