Sussex schools provide super support
As the academic year draws to a close, we’re taking the opportunity to thank schools, nurseries, colleges and universities for their invaluable support.
We’ve worked closely with our education partners, who have helped us to support sick children in Sussex through a variety of fundraising initiatives this 2015-16 school year, and have raised an incredible £18,129!
From dress-down days (including our annual Dress as an Elf event in December) to sponsored silences, from cake making competitions to mini-miles, read-a-thons and table top sales – they’ve done it all.
Liz McCluskey, Schools & Community Fundraising Manager at Rockinghorse, said: “What a year it’s been! We are absolutely overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from our education partners, who have raised an amazing amount of money. It’s been a pleasure to work with so many wonderful schools, and I’ve really enjoyed meeting with staff and pupils at assembly presentations to talk about the work of Rockinghorse.”
We are best known for our work at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton, as well as its sister site, the Special Care Baby Unit in Haywards Heath. We raise money for items necessary to every child’s treatment; from furnishings and toys for the wards, through to cutting-edge diagnostic machines and life-saving medical equipment.
