Supporting Chailey’s DREAM Centre Appeal
Following our 50th anniversary appeal last year, we are delighted to present Chailey Heritage Foundation with £50,000 towards their DREAM Centre Appeal.
Recognised as one of the UK’s leading centres for children and young adults with neurological motor impairment, the Foundation encompasses Chailey Heritage School which provides full-time accommodation and short breaks for over 80 pupils.
Last year, they launched a £3.1million appeal to fund an indoor activity space, dubbed the DREAM Centre. As part of our Sussex Giving for Sussex Children anniversary appeal, we pledged to donate £50,000 to their campaign to support the children and young adults who rely on the services provided at Chailey.
The Foundation is converting and extending an existing building into an all-weather indoor activity centre. This will be accessed by the children and young people at Chailey to allow them to take part in sports related activities, such as powered wheelchair driving, disability football, music, drama and dance.
We visited the team at Chailey Heritage Foundation to officially present them with our £50,000 donation (pictured). Sally-Anne Murray, Development Director at the Foundation, said: “It’s been a pleasure working with Rockinghorse during their 50th anniversary year and we are thrilled with the £50,000 donation towards our Dream Centre Appeal. Their early pledge in the initial stages of the appeal helped give confidence to other donors and really helped get this project off to a great start. Thank you Rockinghorse!”
Chailey Heritage Foundation have now raised £2.8million towards their target. This means that they have now raised the necessary funds to begin construction of the new state-of-the-art centre and work began on site on Tuesday 3 April.Back to news
