Super support from Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s Local on Western Road in Hove have pledged their support for Rockinghorse by choosing us as their Charity of the Year for 2015/2016.

Staff at Sainsbury’s kick-started their fundraising last year by collecting donations through our charity tins and money spinners, and also held a quiz for colleagues across different stores enabling them to present us with a cheque for £1,000.

As well as raising money, the store also supported our Christmas activity by donating lots of goodies for young patients and their families at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton (pictured above) and donated refreshments for a charity fashion show in aid of the Aidan’s Christmas Dinner Project which we support.

As the official fundraising arm of the Alex, we raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment whilst ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs.

Liz McCluskey, Schools and Community Fundraising Manager at Rockinghorse, said: “We are so pleased to have been chosen as Charity of the Year by the team at Sainsbury’s Local in Hove. The staff have really got behind us and were very generous in their support over Christmas – we look forward to continuing working with them in 2016.”
