Serving up support

We are very pleased to announce that MailServe has chosen to support us as their charity partner.

The company, which is based in Haywards Heath and specialises in franking machines, spent a morning with us at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton (The Alex) to find out how their support can make such a huge difference to the lives of sick children throughout Sussex.

As the official fundraising arm of the Alex, we raise money for items necessary to every child’s treatment; from furnishings and toys for the wards, through to cutting-edge diagnostic machines and life-saving medical equipment. The team from MailServe were amazed by the SEA LIFE-themed sensory room (which we helped to fund earlier this year) and heard from Play Team specialist Amy about how the addition has provided a much more supportive and comforting environment for young patients.

Carl Turner, MD of MailServe, said: “I felt so fortunate to be able to spend time seeing all of the incredible work being done by Rockinghorse, and exactly how it’s put into action. As a parent myself, the reality of what these families go through really hit home and has truly inspired us to do as much as we can to help and we can’t wait to start doing our bit to make a difference to them.

Simon Gregg, Regional Corporate Fundraising Manager at Rockinghorse, added: “It was a pleasure to welcome the team from MailServe to the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital for a tour of the facilities, and to show them how we really are making a difference to the lives of sick children in Sussex. We are so grateful to have been chosen as MailServe’s charity partner and we are really looking forward to working with the team over the coming months in the lead up to our 50th year celebrations in 2017.”

MailServe have pledged their support and will be fundraising for us in a number of ways across the year. Their hospital visit has inspired one of their telesales team, Dan O’Farrell, to participate in his 3rd marathon in Brighton next April – welcome to team Rockinghorse Dan!
