Hundreds of Santas took part in the festive 5k fun run to raise over £3,400.

Almost 400 Santas braved the windy weather on Saturday 14 December to raise thousands of pounds for Rockinghorse.

Brighton and Hove seafront promenade was buzzing with a whole host of Santa-themed supporters dressed in red and white for this year’s 5k charity fun run.

Collectively, an impressive £3,414 has been raised for this year’s Christmas Appeal. We are very grateful to everyone who joined us and helped raise a fantastic amount of money – thank you!

Rockinghorse volunteers kindly donated their time to help us on the day.

A special mention to our volunteers and the team at Rapid Relief who were on hand with water and refreshments – we couldn’t do it without you.

This year, our Santa Dash runners were raising funds to support the oncology ward at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton.

We’re supporting children receiving treatment for cancer by funding the Rockinghorse Clinical Psychology service. You can find out more about this very special project, here.

We were also joined by a number of pawfect pooches who took part in Santa Dash.

If you’d like to take part in a running event for Rockinghorse in 2020, then we’d love to hear from you. We have charity places available in the Brighton Half Marathon, full Brighton Marathon, and London Landmarks Half Marathon.

For younger runners, we have charity places in the Youth Races at the Brighton Half Marathon. For more information or to register, contact Lucy Pond on 01273 330044 or email lucy.pond@rockinghorse.org.uk.
