Santas dash to help raise lots of cash!
Hundreds of Santas descended on Brighton and Hove seafront promenade on Saturday (8 December) for the annual charity Santa Dash in aid of Rockinghorse.
475 of you took part to help us raise vital funds for this year’s Christmas appeal and it was wonderful to have so many of you join us again for the 5k festive fun run. Together, you’ve raised a fantastic £1,767 for our appeal – thank you!
We were joined by Brighton & Hove Buses who brought the 50th anniversary Rockinghorse double-decker bus along, giving spectators a perfect viewing point at the start and finish line of the race. Our brilliant volunteers were on hand to help cheer on the participants and to give out well-deserved medals as runners crossed the finish line.
Hollie Trezise, Schools and Community Fundraising Manager at Rockinghorse, said: “What a turnout! We are so grateful to have so much support at the Brighton Santa Dash again this year despite the blustery conditions. Thank you to each and every one of you for helping us to raise vital funds, and of course our thanks also to the organisers for making the event possible.”
Your donations will help us to provide bilirubin monitors for the Community Midwife Team in Sussex. This will allow midwives to test newborn babies for jaundice during home visits and at GP surgeries across the county. To find out more about the appeal, please click here.
