Santa’s dash for donations
Hundreds of Santa’s took to Brighton seafront last weekend (Saturday 10 December) for the annual charity Santa Dash.
Raising money for Rockinghorse, the festive fun run welcomed participants who dressed in red Santa suits for the 5k route along the promenade towards Hove Lagoon and back again. Not just for the adults, children were invited to take part in a 400m dash.
£3,700 was raised towards our 50th year appeal; Sussex Giving for Sussex Children. We are best-known as the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton, and recently launched plans for our Golden Jubilee celebrations in 2017, when we aim to raise £500,000 worth of funding to be split between 10 children’s centres and paediatric services in Sussex.
Hannah Seltzer, Challenge Events Fundraiser at Rockinghorse, said: “Huge thanks to all our Santa Dash runners for taking part in the event and raising such a fantastic amount of money! It was great to receive so much support on the day, and we are extremely grateful. Thanks also to Santa Dash organiser John from Start Line Events for choosing Rockinghorse as the official charity partner again this year – we look forward to working with him again in 2017 as part of our Golden Jubilee celebrations.”
We’re looking for runners to take part in the Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday 26 February. To find out more or to request a registration form, please call 01273 330044 or email email@example.com.
Many thanks to photographer Andy Voakes for the Santa Dash pictures!
