Santa Dash Brighton

Santa Dash Brighton is back! The city’s favourite Christmas challenge returns to the seafront on Saturday 10 December in aid of Rockinghorse.

We’re looking for groups and individuals to take part in the 5K fun run dressed in a full Santa suit, to help us raise vital funds for sick children in Sussex. Places cost £15 per person, including your Santa suit, and the we’re asking participants to raise £50 in sponsorship, which will be donated towards our 50th year appeal; ‘Sussex Giving for Sussex Children’.

Rockinghorse is best-known as the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton, raising money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment. We recently launched plans for our Golden Jubilee in 2017, when we aim to raise £500,000 worth of funding to be split between 10 children’s centres and paediatric services in Sussex. Those taking part in the Santa Dash event last year helped to raise over £3,600, which was donated towards our Christmas toy box appeal, providing presents for young patients in hospital over the festive period.

The annual 5K festive fun run starts at 10.30am and will see scores of Santa’s run from the starting point on Hove Lawns and along the seafront promenade towards Brighton’s i360 and back again. All those taking part will receive a special Santa Dash medal. Not just for the adults, kids are encouraged to take part in a 400m dash for free at 10.20am just before the main event, so it really is fun for all the family!
