This month three of our supporters presented us with their final fundraising totals.
It’s always wonderful when people choose to support Rockinghorse but it’s even nicer when they come to the office to say hello and present their fundraising in person.
This month we have been lucky enough to meet with three different fundraisers who have raised money for us in different ways.
London Marathon
Matthew Cutler recently ran the London Marathon in aid of Rockinghorse, raising over £2,000.
Matthew was originally planning to run the marathon in his 50th year in 2020. He trained all through the winter before but unfortunately the race was cancelled due to the pandemic. But this year he picked up the training and fundraising again and completed the re-scheduled race on 3 October.
Matthew wanted to support the work of a local children’s charity so chose Rockinghorse to be the beneficiary and we’re glad he did!
South Pole training
You may heave previously read about Josh Braid on our website but this week he popped in to Rockinghorse HQ to present his final fundraising total.
Josh walked 160km along the South Downs Way earlier this year, pulling a tyre behind him the whole way.
He decided to take on this mammoth task as part of his training to walk the last stretch to the South Pole – a similar distance but a lot colder and at higher altitude!
Josh’s final total was £3,142 which is a fantastic amount.
Boogie for Good
Chris West and his wife Deb have raised £680 for us at their ‘Boogie for Good’ evening at the Round Georges pub in Brighton. The evening combines live music, dancing and fun, along with some great raffle prizes.
The couple regularly arrange charity evenings in support of lots of great causes and Rockinghorse were proud to have been chosen as one of the recipients of this event. Thanks to Chris and Deb for all their support.
