Rockinghorse runners conquer Bright10

Well done to our team of 26 Rockinghorse runners who took part in the second annual Bright10 running event at the weekend (Sunday 16 October) in rather blustery weather conditions.

Our runners braved the 10-mile race route, which started and finished at Hove Lawns, to collectively raise over £4,400 – and counting! Among those taking part was our very own Chief Executive Ryan Heal, our Schools & Community Fundraiser Liz McCluskey, and our Trusts and Appeals Fundraiser Louise Bartha.

Speaking after the race, Ryan said: “It was very windy but the atmosphere was great. The whole event was really well organised and has already raised thousands of pounds for Rockinghorse.”

As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, we raise money for items necessary to every child’s treatment; from furnishings and toys for the wards, through to cutting-edge diagnostic machines and life-saving medical equipment. We also provide vital support to the neighbouring Trevor Mann Baby Unit, and its sister site, the Special Care Baby Unit in Haywards Heath.

Our thanks to everyone who took part in the Bright10, and of course to our wonderful team of Rockinghorse supporters – we couldn’t do it without you! Check out the pictures on our Facebook page by clicking here.

Could you support us in 2017 by taking part in a running event? We still have places available for the Brighton Half Marathon in February, the Brighton Marathon in April and are currently taking applications for the London Marathon until the end of October.
