Local radio group, More Radio, has donated £1,275.41 to Rockinghorse.
Based in Worthing, the radio station chose to support our charity during two of its events this summer. We were the beneficiary charity of More Radio’s East Sussex Awards, which recognised some of the county’s most amazing people and organisations.
The awards took place at the Cooden Beach Hotel in Bexhill-On-Sea on Friday 26 July. Rockinghorse raised £790 from a raffle held on the night.
We’ve also benefited from the More Radio Live event, which took place in Worthing’s Steyne Gardens on Saturday 17 August. The music festival played host to some of the UK’s top tribute acts, with performances from Vicky Jackson as Pink, Bran Mazz as Bruno Mars and Nya King as Whitney Houston.
Rockinghorse raised £485.41 from a raffle and bucket collection during the evening. Raffle entrants were in with a chance of winning a family pass to Windsor Racecourse, including an evening performance from Rita Ora.
The winner was announced live on the Breakfast Show with Nick & Lou on the Monday morning after the More Radio Live event (19 August).

Helping young people in Sussex
David Cunningham is the Group Operations Director at More Radio and is pleased to have supported Rockinghorse. He says, “More Radio was delighted to work with Rockinghorse. It is a wonderful charity that does such great work helping poorly young people in Sussex. We’d like to thank all those who attended for their generosity.”
Terrina Barnes is Corporate Fundraising Manager at Rockinghorse and is very grateful for the support. She says, “We have really enjoyed working with More Radio as beneficiary of these two events.
“Their annual East Sussex Awards plays such an important part in recognising truly deserving businesses, community groups and individuals in the county and we were delighted to be a small part of the event.
“Saturday night’s More Radio Live event was brilliant, and it was great to be part of it. Thanks to More Radio’s support, we are able to increase awareness of our work across both East and West Sussex. Thanks also to More Radio’s listeners for being so supportive of our charity and donating so generously.”
