Another brilliant Rockinghorse Quiz Night took place last week at the Palace Pier with some stiff competition to win the ultimate prize.
Our annual quiz is a real highlight of the calendar for the Rockinghorse Team and participants alike. It’s always a fun-packed event with lots of fierce competition. And this year’s event was no different.
Taking place in the Palm Court Restaurant on the Palace Pier, and kindly sponsored by Plus Accounting, 160 people, making up 22 teams of eager quizzers came along to pit their wits against each other and our fabulous quizmaster Liam from Question 1.
With a range of different topics, including some fiendishly tricky picture questions, there was something that everyone could have a go at during the evening.
During a break in the quiz for delicious fish and chips, the raffle was drawn with prizes including a holiday pod stay at Fishers Farm Park, and aesthetic clinic voucher from Rose Skin, a beautiful necklace from Baroque Jewellery, a two week David Lloyd gym pass, a free will from Dean Wilson, vouchers for the Palace Pier and bottles of whiskey, Prosecco and gin.
At the end of the second round, the final bit of fun was the round where team members had to beat their competitors to come up to the front and sing the next lines of popular songs that had been part of an earlier round of questions.
This meant there was a lot of fierce competition to get to the microphone first so belt out the songs and earn those precious points!
After the quiz was completed and the scores were totted up, the winners were announced as The Smart Alex, team of doctors and nurses from the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital – one place up from their second placing last year.
