We’ve received a boost to our fundraising for the Special Care Baby Unit, thanks to the support of Hamilton Studios in East Grinstead.

Based within the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) is a unit that cares for premature and sick newborn babies requiring short term high dependency care.

Frazer Hamilton from Hamilton Studios has been supporting the unit for a few years’ now with his summer fundraising campaign, offering a free family portrait session (including one print) in exchange for a donation of £20.

The campaign has been a huge success again this year, raising £1,000. Together with the amount raised by Hamilton Studios over the last three years, this brings their fundraising total to a fantastic £3,330. The company has also donated four framed prints for the newly refurbished parent rooms in SCBU, which were kitted out thanks to Rockinghorse funding.

Our CEO Ryan Heal and Appeal & Trusts Fundraising Manager, Louise Bartha, were joined by Clare Baker, at SCBU for an official cheque presentation with Frazer Hamilton. He said: “By offering photoshoots with proceeds going towards the unit, we have created long-lasting memories while helping grow such a worthwhile and important cause.”

Ryan added: “It is thanks to supporters like Frazer that we are able to continue our work supporting sick children and babies across Sussex. As we approach our 50th year, this is a very exciting time for SCBU and our plans in terms of support and funding for the unit. A big thank you to Hamilton Studios for another very generous donation.”
