Two fashion forward mums from Cuckfield use their love of clothes to help raise £4,000 for Rockinghorse children’s charity.
The event, which took place at The Talbot pub in Cuckfield, attracted over 160 bargain hunters ready to bag a bargain, update their wardrobe and enjoy a glass of bubbly, all the while raising much needed funds for us.
The pre-loved fashion event was organised by Kate Roche and Sophie Johnson, two mums from Cuckfield and Katie explained how they decided on the charity; “We chose to raise money for Rockinghorse because as parents both Sophie and I have experienced first-hand the invaluable services this charity provides.
“They work tirelessly to help ensure all children’s experience of hospital is as comfortable as possible and can even be fun! We are honoured to have been able to raise money to contribute towards such an amazing cause.”
Local support makes such a difference
Events like this in the local community make such a difference to the support that Rockinghorse is able to provide to sick and disadvantaged children throughout Sussex.
Lucy Pond, the Challenge Events Fundraising Manager at Rockinghorse, went along to the event and grabbed herself a few deals; “Kate and Sophie have really pulled off something special with this event. Seeing the amount of contributions that people have made along with the turnout just goes to show how passionate people are about new clothes and supporting our work at Rockinghorse.
As a small charity it’s the support from local people, taking their own time to organise fundraising events, that really make the difference to the support we are able to provide. A massive thank you to Kate and Sophie!”
Thanks again to Sophie and Kate for all their hard work! If you have an idea to raise money for Rockinghorse in your local community, why not have a chat with Hollie Trezise, Schools and Community Fundraising Manager on 01273 330044 or email: hollie@rockinghorse.org.uk.
