The People Power scheme from Octopus Energy, the renewable energy supplier, is offering a donation to Rockinghorse Children’s Charity every time someone switches to Octopus.
Rockinghorse will receive a £50 donation every time someone signs up to switch their energy supplier to Octopus using a special link on the charity’s website. And better yet, each new customer switching via the link will also benefit from a £50 credit to their account.
As well as doing good for the planet by providing 100% renewable electricity, Octopus Energy are also keen to support local communities through their People Power scheme, which is why they have linked up with Rockinghorse to offer new customers this great deal.
All customers have to do to make the donation and receive their credit is to sign up via the special link on the Rockinghorse website. Once their account is up and running, they will receive the credit to their account and Rockinghorse will receive the donation. This means that both the customer and the charity benefit, a great help especially at this time of year.
Oliver Dall, Community Manager at Octopus Energy explained more about the company and why they wanted to support the charity: “We’re a new kind of energy supplier, committed to the future of the planet. One hundred percent of our electricity comes from renewable sources, and our prices are some of the most competitive on the market with most homes saving when they switch to us.
“People Power allows us to support communities with donations, offer a sign-up reward to new customers all while making the world a greener place! We are delighted to support Rockinghorse because of the incredible work they do for the children of Sussex. It’s obvious how crucial they are to the families and we wanted to support them through our People Power scheme.”
The company are aiming to raise £1,050 for the charity which will go towards funding a mock MRI scanner for the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital. These scanners give children the opportunity to see and understand how the machines work and what it feels like before having their own scans, really helping to reduce their anxiety and making the whole process much more relaxed for both children and their parents.
Janella Merritt, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Rockinghorse, is really grateful for the companies support: “At the moment lots of people are struggling and it can be difficult to think about supporting a charity alongside managing their usual bills. But that is precisely why this is such a wonderful offer; helping people save money on their energy, get a credit on their account and donate to charity all at the same time is fantastic! And we are so thankful to Octopus for choosing us as their charity partner in Brighton.”
