Community Wills Sussex is a brand new free will writing community initiative, open to anyone over the age of 55, offering a free will in exchange for a legacy gift to one or more of four local charity partners, including Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.
Writing a will is often one of those jobs that gets left behind and stays on our to-do list for ages but having a professionally written up to date will is so important. It is the only way of ensuring that the loved ones and causes you care about are remembered in the way you want them to be, leaving no room for uncertainty and no stress for the people left behind.
In addition, many charities rely on gifts left in people’s wills to help them continue their work and Rockinghorse Children’s Charity is no different.
A gift left to Rockinghorse in your will could play an important part in their ongoing mission, helping the charity be there for Sussex children and families for another 55 years.
But getting around to sorting a will can be difficult to get around to. This is why we are thrilled to be part of Community Wills Sussex – a new will writing partnership in Sussex.
The scheme offers you the opportunity to make a will and to leave a lasting impact on a local Sussex charity, through the inclusion of a legacy gift.
Spaces are limited and bookings will open in mid-April, offering free, or heavily discounted wills, depending on complexity.
Sharon says, “We are thrilled to be part of such an exciting initiative linking up local charities and helping people plan their wills. Donations left us through wills are vital to the future of Rockinghorse, ensuring we can be there for families in our community for many years ahead.”
“Thanks to donations gifts left to us in our supporter’s wills, we can fund up to 60 new projects a year helping around x Sussex children. A gift left in your will could change the lives of children and families living in your community for many generations to come.”
To get an idea of the impact that a gift in your will can have, here are some examples of what a donation can achieve:
- £1,000 could provide mental health support to a child and their family going through a cancer diagnosis
- £5,000 could help fund a vital piece of equipment in one of our children’s hospitals, helping to save young lives
- £10,000 could fund a wellbeing activities programme for children struggling to deal with the emotional impact of living with a chronic illness
- £100,000 could pay for the refurbishment of a children’s hospital ward to give ill children the best possible environment, helping to take away some of the fear, stress and anxiety
