Muddy fun for MailServe staff

Carl Turner and Scott Lonsdale from MailServe took part in the Mud Monsters Run last weekend (Saturday 8 October) and raised £1,590 for Rockinghorse.

Held in East Grinstead, West Sussex, the Mud Monsters Run challenges teams and individuals to run, jump, climb and clamber their way through wet, muddy fields, swamps and obstacles.

MailServe, who are franking machine specialists based in Haywards Heath, have chosen us as their Charity of the Year and are raising funds through a variety of fundraising initiatives. Carl and Scott signed up for the muddy 10k challenge and raised a fantastic amount of money for sick children in Sussex. Our Regional Corporate Fundraising Manager, Simon Gregg, met with both of them for an official cheque presentation earlier this week (pictured above).

As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton, we raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, as well as ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs. We also provide vital support to the neighbouring Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU), and its sister site, the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) in Haywards Heath.

Carl, Managing Director at MailServe, said: “Doing the Mud Monsters Run was probably one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in a long while. Although it was seriously tough, Scott and I had such a laugh doing it, and we want to say a huge thank you to each and every person who was generous enough to help us raise £1,590! It hugely exceeded our targets and we’re so delighted to know it’s going to such a worthy cause.”

It is thanks to the support of local businesses like MailServe, that we are able to continue our work to help improve the lives of sick children and babies in Sussex. To find out more about us, please click here.
