Matt Cullimore is undertaking another 24-hour POKEMON live stream later this month in aid of Rockinghorse
Matt is a regular Rockinghorse supporter, using his amazing YouTube channel where he has regular POKEMON giveaways and competitions, to help raise money for the charity.
And following his previous successful live stream in June, where he raised over £1000 for us, Matt has taken on the challenge again and will be doing a second 24-hour live stream from 9.00am on Saturday 26 September straight through to 9.00am to Sunday 27 September.
Live game-play
Similar to the previous live stream, Matt will be playing a range of games including POKEMON Shield, League of Legends and Minecraft, but this time he will also be hoping to get viewers to join in and play the games with him.
And, along with the games, Matt has also arranged prizes and giveaways throughout the stream from POKEMON pack to a Nintendo games consul.
As many of you know, Matt has been supporting Rockinghorse since his son Logan was born two months premature. Logan was looked after in the Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU) at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and while he was spending time there with Logan, Matt became aware of the work of Rockinghorse and the support they gave the hospital.
As Matt explains: “Before Logan was born I wasn’t aware of the Rockinghorse Children’s Charity but while I was in the hospital with him I noticed the logo all around the TMBU and found out more about the amazing support they provide to the hospital. It really made me realise what wonderful work they do, and we were all so appreciative.”
The next level
And following his successful last live-stream, Matt is keen to replicate the success and take it to the next level: “This last stream was one of the biggest challenges I have ever taken on but quickly became one of the proudest moments for me in my short YouTube career. Once the stream started and the donation came rolling in the nerves quickly went away and I really enjoyed it – despite the tiredness towards the end!
“Having already done one live-stream, I have a much better idea of how to organise this next one and what to expect, so I’m really hoping we can raise even more money this time. I know the struggles that Rockinghorse have experienced over the last six months and I want to do whatever I can to help them until they can get back to doing their normal fundraising events.”
Get involved
And Matt’s amazing efforts inspired Lucy Pond, Rockinghorse Challenge Events Manager, to set up their own ‘Game for Rockinghorse’ campaign which is encouraging other gamers to set up their own live stream in aid of the charity. “It’s a great way for people to use their gaming skills to get other people involved and help raise money for their local children’s charity,” explained Lucy, “and it’s something that so many people enjoy, so it seems like a great way for people to support us!”
More details on the event, including the prize giveaways and how to get involved, can be found on Matt’s Just Giving page here. And if you want to take a look at Matt’s YouTube channel, just click here. We wish Matt all the best for his next livestream.
