Jewellery designs making a difference

Brighton-based jewellers Posh Totty Designs have made a donation of over £1,300 to Rockinghorse…

The money has been raised through sales of a jewellery collection created especially for our charity. With 12 unique designs in the range (like the personalised silver necklace pictured above), each item is inspired by our distinct rocking horse logo.

For every piece sold, Posh Totty Designs donates 100% of the profits to us, supporting sick children in Sussex. The company’s £1,356.45 donation is from sales of the Rockinghorse collection over the past six months.

Each piece is lovingly handmade by the team of jewellers in their Brighton workshop, and can be personalised with a name, date or message – making it the perfect gift for any occasion. Since our partnership began in 2013, Posh Totty Designs has raised just under £11,000 for our cause – an incredible achievement.

Alice River-Cripps, Founder of Posh Totty Designs, said: “This latest donation seems even more poignant given that it was 10 years ago to the day, that the Trevor Mann Baby Unit treated my poorly new born son, Oli. It was my own experience and gratitude that propelled me to do something to support the charity, yet since launching the collection we have heard from so many more parents about their own experience of having a child cared for at the TMBU – and, how often, that care was life-saving.”

She continued: “For me it just reinforces how important it is to keep momentum with our fundraising. If all the parents of children who were born at the hospital purchased a piece from the Rockinghorse collection, the charity would be so much closer to buying that much needed X-ray Imaging Machine they hope to provide this year.”

Louise Bartha, Appeals and Trusts Fundraising Manager at Rockinghorse, added: “We are so grateful to receive another generous donation from Alice and the team at Posh Totty Designs. Not only does the partnership provide us with a unique opportunity to raise awareness of our charity, but we are always so touched to hear from those who order pieces of jewellery, having experienced the services at either the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital or neighbouring Trevor Mann Baby Unit.”

Rockinghorse is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, and a vital supporter of the neighbouring Trevor Mann Baby Unit. We raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, whilst ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs.
