Support from the local business community is vital for a small charity like Rockinghorse, but it doesn’t just have to be financial donations, there are so many ways that they can help.
Most businesses understand the importance of supporting a charity such as Rockinghorse. Obviously, this kind of support can actively change the lives of hundreds, if not thousands of children and their families.
But it’s more than that. By supporting us, you will also make great links into the local community and grow your network, increase your brand awareness and community engagement and help support your staff engagement and align with some really positive core values.
However businesses support us is wonderful, whether it’s a regular donation, a one-off fundraising event or choosing us as your charity of the year. But did you know that supporting us can also include sharing your skills and experience, donating prizes for us to auction or helping promote our campaigns.
As you can see in the above, we are lucky enough to have had IT support from Trident Group for nearly ten years.
Tom Gunter, Trident Sales Director, said, “Trident is rooted in Sussex, so it’s natural for us to support Rockinghorse’s amazing local work. We are immensely proud to support them with IT resources and contribute to their fantastic fundraising initiative.”
Recently a new supporter, award-winning branding agency UnitedUs, who have offered to not only help us develop a brand-new website but are also offering their help to refresh our branding to help keep us relevant and engaging to current and future supporters.
Jan Rust, Partner at UnitedUs said, “We’ve been working with Rockinghorse in some capacity for nearly a decade. By providing our expertise as a brand agency we are able to empower the Rockinghorse team with tools and skills that would otherwise be expensive to acquire.
“We are able to work within a genuine partnership as part of our role to support the local community in which we work and live. The whole team is proud to be involved with such a great cause.”
As a charity we are also entitled to a Google Ad Grant which offers up to $10,000 of in-kind advertising per month, allowing us to create adverts for our events and campaigns to people who are interested in the work we do. And to help us administer this grant, we have the expert and long-term support of digital marketing agency Search Seven.
And having impactful video content is invaluable but can often be out of financial reach, especially for a small charity like ours. But thanks to Picture Book Films, who are donating their time and amazing skills for free, we are able to reach new audiences and help people really understand the impact of our work.
They recently helped us put together this short film about the importance of fundraising for a new support service for families trying to manage after cancer treatment.
So, as you can see, support from our local business community comes in all shapes and sizes. We are grateful for every kind help we are offered so if you think your company might want to organise an Easter Egg collection, undertake a challenge event like our Superhero i360 Drop, or offer some specific skills or support, we would love to hear from you.
