The event, organised by TPG Sports Events, was held at The Dyke Golf Club and despite the rain, a great day out was had by all!
The TPG Sports Events Golf Day in aid of Rockinghorse Children’s Charity was attended by 80 avid golfers from all over Brighton and Hove. Under current government regulations, staggered starts and strict social distancing measures were put in place but did not hinder the success of the day and despite the poor weather conditions, the event ran smoothly.
Thanks to fundraising throughout the day, the event raised thousands of pounds, helping to fund ongoing projects and services for Rockinghorse. All the teams had great fun and players from Austin Rees took home the crown of winning team, receiving a £75 voucher for The Dyke Pro shop and voucher to use at Golf Travel Hub.
Toby Graves, the founder of TPG Sports Events who organised the golf day, expressed his delight following the success of the event: “Firstly I would like to thank everyone for attending the day in support of Rockinghorse Children’s Charity. Without your support we cannot raise much-needed funds for Rockinghorse and all they do in the community and at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.
“And thank you to all the sponsors on the day and to The Dyke Golf Club for letting us have the course for the whole day. Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to winners from Austin Rees.”
Janella Merritt, Head of Fundraising at Rockinghorse, really enjoyed joining the golfers at The Dyke Golf Club: “It’s wonderful to see so many of our supporters enjoying a day of golf on this amazing course. We want to say a big thank you to everyone who took part and to TPG Sports Events for organising such a great day in aid of Rockinghorse.
“This money raised will have a really positive impact on so many children and their families throughout Sussex and we’re really looking forward to more of Toby’s events in the future!”
