Glenn Mishon Golf Day raises funds for Rockinghorse

The fifth annual Glenn Mishon Charity Golf Day took place last month in aid of Rockinghorse.

Organised by Mishon Mackay estate agents, the golf fundraiser is held every year to remember the company’s co-founder, Glenn Mishon, and to raise money for the local charities he supported.

We were delighted to be beneficiary of the event this year, which had its biggest turnout to date. Held at The Dyke Golf Club in Brighton on Friday 13 July, 108 golfers (made up of 27 teams from local businesses) took part to raise money for sick children in Sussex.

The golf day was sponsored by Sussex Mortgage Services and RHL, who also donated prizes along with other generous local businesses. The Glenn Mishon Memorial Cup was won by the team from Bell-Air Management and an incredible £3,385.38 was raised from the event.

Rockinghorse CEO, Ryan Heal, joined players on the day and thanked those taking part, he said: “To have been chosen as the charity partner for The Glenn Mishon Charity Golf Day is a huge honour for our charity. Last year we celebrated 50 years of Rockinghorse, whilst Mishon Mackay celebrated 30 years of business in Sussex – to have these two institutions working together side by side is great to see.

“Funds raised from the golf day will be going towards our ongoing projects at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton – the High Dependency Unit in particular – in our quest to purchase new life-saving ventilators for them. Thank you to everyone involved in making the event a great success.”

Marc Cox, Director at Mishon Mackay, organised the event and hosted the charity auction. He explains why the annual charity golf day is so important to him, he said: “It’s my way of delivering something positive from Glenn’s death which hit us all very hard – especially the Hove Mishon Mackay team who worked with Glenn. He was such a motivational and inspirational character with a great sense of humour.”

Huge thanks to Marc and the Mishon Mackay team for their wonderful support – we were delighted to be joined by Marc for an official cheque presentation at the Alex (pictured above). We’re very pleased to announce that we will be beneficiary of the Glenn Mishon Charity Golf Day again next year.
