Stagecoach have announced the funds raised from their Christmas and New Year activities, which includes a £1,562.66 donation to help us make life better for sick children in Sussex.

The money was raised for Rockinghorse on board the Worthing Santa bus which was launched on our Dress as an Elf day in December. Our charity buckets were placed on the Santa bus for passenger donations and additional activities including a bake-off and Christmas jumper day were also held at the depot to maximise the fundraising.

Worthing’s Operations Manager, Colin Ashcroft was astounded by the generosity of staff and passengers, he said of his team: “They love to get involved with fundraising for charity, and the Santa bus is so rewarding because you see so many smiles and get so much positive feedback from passengers.”

Analiese Doctrove, Head of Fundraising at Rockinghorse (pictured above with staff from the Stagecoach Worthing depot) added: “We were delighted to have been chosen by Stagecoach to benefit from the Santa bus in 2015. The generosity of everyone involved has been overwhelming and the money raised will go towards ongoing projects at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and Trevor Mann Baby Unit.”

As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital which is based in Brighton, we raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, whilst also ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs. We also support the neighbouring Trevor Mann Baby Unit and its sister site, the Special Care Baby Unit in Haywards Heath. To find out more about our latest projects, please click here.
