Mark Wright as Elvis On My Mind entertained at the Rockinghorse Independence Day event.

Elvis paid a special visit to Brighton earlier this month. He performed at the Rockinghorse Independence Day event on Thursday 4 July.

We partnered with the Holiday Inn on Brighton seafront to present an American-themed fundraising evening at Stock Burger Co.

Mark Wright as Elvis On My Mind is one of the UK’s top Elvis impersonators. He draws crowds all over the country and joined us to pay a special tribute to the king at our fundraising event. Over 50 guests were in attendance and enjoyed hearing hits like ‘Blue Suede Shoes’, ‘Burning Love’ and ‘Suspicious Minds’.

Over £1,700 raised

Tickets were £30 per person for the event, which included a hot buffet of American foods and delicious desserts. Celebrating all things American, the charity evening raised over £1,700 for Rockinghorse.

Stella Buckingham is our Events Fundraising Manager. Speaking after the Independence Day event, she said, “What a great evening, we are so pleased with the turnout and the wonderful support received. Mark Wright’s Elvis tribute was fantastic! We’re very much looking forward to working with him again in the near future on more events like this across Sussex.”

Rockinghorse is best known as the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton. Raising money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, we aim to improve the lives of sick and disadvantaged children in Sussex.
