We’re pleased to announce that we’ve teamed up with the Eastbourne Triathlon to offer our supporters the opportunity to take part in the event and help us raise funds for sick children in Sussex.

Eastbourne is set to welcome world-class talent to the new triathlon which takes place on Sunday 12 June, with the UK’s Jacqui Slack and Australia’s Ben Allen (pictured above) confirming their attendance for the race. The event consists of a 600 metre sea swim, 25 kilometre road cycle through the South Downs National Park, before finishing with a 5 kilometre run and a glorious promenade finish in front of The Grand Hotel.

The Eastbourne Triathlon has been re-launched for 2016 and is being organised by the Eastbourne-based company Beyond Sport Marketing. It promises to be an unmissable event catering for both first-timers and seasoned professionals with the option for competitors to enter an Aquabike event or a SUP (stand-up paddle board) triathlon. We have 10 exclusive charity places available and offer a discounted entry to the event, alongside a minimum fundraising target.

We’re looking for supporters to take part in the triathlon and help us raise money for projects at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) which is based in Brighton. As the official fundraising arm of the Alex, we raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment as well as ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs.

Hannah Seltzer, Challenge Events Fundraiser at Rockinghorse, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer our supporters the opportunity to take part in the brand new Eastbourne Triathlon which is a must for budding triathletes. Many thanks to Race Director Richard Campbell for choosing to support as an official charity partner of the event.”

Richard Campbell, Race Director, added: “I’m so happy that we are supporting Rockinghorse. The work they do is tremendous and the bravery and spirit of the young people under the care of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital is humbling – I hope that lots of triathletes join up to support Rockinghorse and we can raise a lot of money for this brilliant cause.”

Registration is £45 per place and we’re asking our participants to raise £250 in sponsorship. For more information or to sign up, call Hannah on 01273 330044 or email hannah.seltzer@rockinghorse.org.uk.
