Dr Paul Seddon completes charity challenge

Dr Paul Seddon, a Paediatrician at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, has completed a huge charity challenge, having cycled 808km (almost 500 miles!) from Southern France to the North-Western tip of Spain.

Dr Seddon pledged his support to four charities, including Rockinghorse, in a bid to raise £5,000 in memory of his wife Anna. For his challenge, he cycled the medieval pilgrim’s route; the Camino de Santiago (Way of St James) from Hendaye in Southern France to Santiago de Compostela on the North-Western tip of Spain.

Paul finished the challenge ahead of schedule on Thursday 27 October, having set off just 13 days before to tackle the cycle. He has far surpassed his fundraising target and raised an incredible £7,493.75 – over £1,800 for each of his four chosen charities.

Paul is pictured above in front of the Cathedral in Santiago having completed his journey, including a picture with his grandson Ned, who joined him along with other members of his family to celebrate his achievement.
