Just by doing you online shopping that you already do, using your mobile phone or tablet, you can easily raise money for us without costing you anything. For every £1 you spend on your weekly shop or booking a holiday you will be generating 2.5p for Rockinghorse. Pretty much anything you buy on your phone or tablet can help raise us money.
The keyboard in action on a mobile phone
It’s really easy. Here’s how it works.
We are one of the first charities in the UK to have our own bespoke keyboard that you can download to your mobile phone or tablet. The keyboard is available to anyone with an iOS or android device and you download it just like any other app from the App or Google Play store.
Once you have the Rockinghorse keyboard on your device, every time you spend any money online using the keyboard and following the link that appears, you will raise money for us. Nearly every shop you might use, such as Amazon, Ebay and Tesco, will benefit us at no extra cost to you or us.
You don’t add any extra money of your own. We don’t get charged. It’s free. It costs you nothing. It costs us nothing.
If you use things like Amazon Smile already then our keyboard will help raise even more money on top. At no extra cost. We will receive around five times more money from an Amazon Smile purchase than before – just because you are using the Rockinghorse keyboard. Even if you choose another charity you care about on Amazon Smile sometimes, because you have the Rockinghorse keyboard on your phone, we will still get 2.5% of the purchase price.
And it’s not just Amazon, 40,000 other companies online are part of this scheme. It’s amazing the good you can do just by doing your normal shopping.
We know that everyone is facing more challenges than normal to be able to support charities they love. A lot of us want to support good causes but simply don’t have much spare cash anymore. But this is why our new keyboard is so great as it allows you to help us just by doing your normal shopping.
The keyboard also allows us to keep you in touch with things we are doing. At the top of the keyboard there’s a link to our website, to our social media feeds and even specially designed stickers and emojis we’ve had created for all our supporters.

How to download the keyboard
iOS or iPhone devices:
If you have an iOS or iPhone just click on this link to download your Rockinghorse keyboard.
Once downloaded, just follow these steps to use the keyboard:
- Go to ‘Settings – General – Keyboard’ then click on ‘Keyboards’
- Click ‘Add New Keyboard’ and choose ‘Rockinghorse Keyboard’
- Then click on ‘Rockinghorse Keyboard’ and click ‘Allow Full Access’
- Open Safari and click in the search box at the top so that the keyboard appears
- Click on the globe symbol at the bottom left of the keyboard and choose ‘Rockinghorse Keyboard’ from the list
- Start using your keyboard!
Android devices:
If you have an android phone (such as a Samsung) you can download the Rockinghorse keyboard by clicking on this link.
Once downloaded, follow these steps:
- Open the ‘Rockinghorse Keyboard’ app and follow the on-screen directions:
- Go to ‘Languages and Input settings’ and turn on ‘Rockinghorse’ to authorise and run the keyboard
- Select ‘Rockinghorse’ as your active text-input method
- Start using the keyboard!
