Collection tins raise thousands

We’re thanking businesses from across the county for displaying our charity collection tins, which help to raise thousands of pounds every year to help sick children in Sussex.

Local shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs displaying the collection tins together raised an amazing £7,358.56 last year!

As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex), we provide life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment as well as items necessary to every young patient’s treatment. To read about the projects we’ve most recently funded, please click here.

We’re also looking for a new collection tin coordinator to support our Community Fundraiser. The role is a volunteer position and the person will be responsible for collecting and dropping off tins in the Brighton and Hove area. Working with 65 different sites, the volunteer will need to have access to a car and time to commit to Rockinghorse.

Community Fundraiser Liz, says of the role: “This is someone who is community minded and of a helpful nature as well as being committed and organised. They will build and maintain relationships with local shops and businesses, replacing collection tins when they are full and providing new ones in their place.”
