Cocktails and mocktails raise funds for Rockinghorse

Guests raised a glass to Rockinghorse at a cocktail masterclass on Thursday 21 June.

The fundraising event was held at the Bohemia bar in Brighton, attended by supporters from local businesses. During the hands-on masterclass guests learnt how to create a range of classic cocktails, as demonstrated by Bohemia’s professional mixologists.

Situated in Brighton’s South Lanes, Bohemia also supports our charity through the sale of their signature mocktails, created especially to raise funds for Rockinghorse. Together with funds raised from ticket sales and a raffle at the cocktail masterclass, Bohemia have raised a wonderful £1,500.

Verity Craig, Owner of Bohemia, said: “We were delighted to host Rockinghorse and its supporters at one of our cocktail masterclasses. Lots of fun was had by all with some future mixologists in the making! It’s lovely to be able to support such a wonderful local charity.”

Terrina Barnes, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Rockinghorse, added: “Our thanks to Verity and the team at Bohemia for their fantastic support so far this year. In addition to the signature Rockinghorse mocktail, the cocktail masterclass was a unique way of raising funds for our current charity appeal, and we’d like to extend our thanks to everyone who joined us on the evening.”

Rockinghorse is best known as the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton. We raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment as well as funding items to ensure that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs.

We’ve launched an appeal to provide more ventilators for the High Dependency Unit (HDU) at the Alex, where the hospital’s most poorly children are treated. To find out more about our HDU ventilator appeal and how you can make a donation, please click here.
