Churchill Square is once again supporting Rockinghorse this Christmas with Giving Trees and Santa’s Grotto, helping to bring magic to Brighton Families.
Once again this Christmas Churchill Square shopping centre is offering visitors their famous Giving Tree campaign where shoppers can buy gifts which will be donated to children spending time in hospital this festive season.
And along with the Giving Trees, visitors can also enjoy a free visit to Santa, where children are invited to become Santa’s little helpers in a magical toy-making adventure. Young elves are invited to help Santa with his preparations for Christmas Eve, giving them the opportunity to choose from his “Whimsical Wish List” and craft their own special toy.
The free experience in Santas Grotto not only offers families a chance to create happy memories, but also aims to support Rockinghorse. Visitors will be able to make a voluntary donation to help us continue our vital work to support children and families around Sussex this Christmas.
“We’re thrilled to offer this magical experience to our community,” said Mark Buchanan-Smith, Meeting Place Manager at Churchill Square. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, enjoy the spirit of Christmas, and support Rockinghorse, a charity that makes a real difference in the lives of local children.
“As a meeting place, we want to provide our visitors not only with activities that bring them joy and create memories, but also embrace a chance to bring attention to the important work held by Rockinghorse Children’s Charity in our community.”
From Saturday 30 November, visitors to Churchill Square can find Santa’s Grotto in the Meeting Place and the Giving Christmas trees in the east, west and lower central malls.
Shoppers can select and purchase a recommended gift for a child which will be donated to children in hospital this Christmas. Donations will be taken to the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, and to other hospital settings throughout Sussex.
Amanda Hetherington, Head of Partnerships at Rockinghorse says “It’s wonderful to be working with Churchill Square again this year. Visitors to the centre are always so generous to us over the Christmas period. The projects that this support helps us fund and deliver really do change lives. From big bits of medical equipment to a little teddy bear, every single one impacts on the care that babies, children and young people across Sussex receive.”
Visiting Santa’s Grotto is free, but tickets must be booked in advance due to expected high demand.
