Children’s Food Festival fundraising

We had a great time at the Children’s Food Festival on Hove Lawns over the August bank holiday weekend, raising over £1,000!

Hosted by the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival as part of their Sussex & The World Weekend, the Children’s Food Festival welcomed little foodies of all ages to take part in an amazing line-up of free activities and workshops, alongside the Live Food Show marquee.

Rockinghorse Schools & Community Fundraiser, Liz McCluskey, was joined by our team of wonderful volunteers for our charity activity stall, which included bracelet and badge making, raising £286 thanks to donations made across the weekend to take part in the workshop. A big thank you must also go to Ridley’s Family Funfair who kindly donated an amazing £900 from their takings over the weekend!

We are very proud to be a chosen charity of the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival, who have supported us for a number of years now and helped us to raise thousands of pounds for sick children in Sussex.  As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, we raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, while ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs.

A special mention to our volunteers, without whom we wouldn’t be able to get involved in these type of events. Thanks to; Jo Broadhurst, Jacquie Roffe, Rachael Phelps, Lola Gurr, Claudia Gurr, Angela Smith, Rosanna Farrar, Gem Welch and Christine Ient – you are all superstars!
