Brighton was buzzing as the tenth anniversary of the marathon took place, with people turning out in their droves to support the participants.
Over 17,000 thousand runners and cyclists took part in the Brighton Marathon Weekend, many representing charitable causes, including Rockinghorse! We had 38 participants taking part in the Mini Mile Race, BM Ride, BM10k and Brighton Marathon.
Together they raised an incredible £18,150 and counting as more money continues to be donated. This year, all funds raised by Rockinghorse participants from the Brighton Marathon Weekend will be donated to our activities programme at Chalkhill Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit.

Helen Geoghegan took part in the Brighton Marathon for Rockinghorse.
Based in Haywards Heath, Chalkhill is the only unit of its kind in Sussex, helping young people to recover from mental health illnesses. We have been supporting the unit through our activities programme since 2015. It has proven to be a great success, complementing both the clinical and educational work at the unit. Hannah Seltzer is our challenge events fundraising manager and was there to support the Rockinghorse runners and cyclists from a cheering point at Brunswick Square in Hove. She says, “What a weekend! Not only did we have four children taking part in the Mini Mile Race on Saturday, but we are very grateful to have had 34 supporters taking part in Sunday’s BM Ride, BM10k and Brighton Marathon.
“Thanks to their incredible support, we’ve raised over £18,000 towards the Rockinghorse Activities Programme at Chalkhill which will help fund the scheme throughout the rest of the year.”
