Brighton Marathon local charity partner

We are very pleased to announce that Rockinghorse has been chosen as a 2017 Brighton Marathon local charity partner alongside the Sussex Wildlife Trust.

Tom Naylor, Brighton Marathon Event Director, says: “We are really pleased to welcome Rockinghorse Children’s Charity and the Sussex Wildlife Trust as local charity partners for the 2017 Brighton Marathon. The Brighton Marathon weekend is a community event; it’s about bringing people together and provides a great opportunity to bring the incredible work of our charities to the forefront, particularly within the local area.”

Ryan Heal, Chief Executive at Rockinghorse, added: “We are so pleased to have been selected as a local charity partner for the 2017 Brighton Marathon. Supporters taking part for Rockinghorse will help to raise vital funds to improve the lives of sick children in Sussex, so it is really important for us to be involved in the event and also raise awareness of our work.”

The Brighton Marathon 2017 takes place on Sunday 9 April and we have 19 places available for runners who would like to join our team as part of our special 50th anniversary celebrations. Rockinghorse is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, and a vital supporter of the neighbouring Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton. We raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment as well as ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs. Places cost £49 per person and we’re asking our runners to raise £450 in sponsorship. We’ll provide you with a fundraising pack full of useful ideas and training advice as well as our charity running vest to wear on the day. Would you like to join our team?
