Best of British Eastbourne charity lunch

The Best of British sporting lunch will play host to hat-trick scoring hero Sir Geoff Hurst for a second time, as part of a 1966 World Cup special in aid of Rockinghorse.

Sponsored by Rix & Kay solicitors, the event will be held at The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne on Friday 16 September. Guests will enjoy a three-course lunch followed by an entertaining talk from special guest speaker, Sir Geoff Hurst, as he recalls his World Cup winning story on what is the 50th anniversary since England’s win. Guests will also have the chance to bid on rare sporting memorabilia as part of a charity auction on the day, which will be raising money for sick children in Sussex.

As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton, and a vital supporter of the neighbouring Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU) and its sister site, the Special Care Baby Unit in Haywards Heath, we raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, whilst ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs.

Ryan Heal, Chief Executive of Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, and organiser of the Best of British event (pictured above with Sir Geoff Hurst), said: “We were delighted to welcome Sir Geoff Hurst to our Best of British sporting lunch in Brighton back in June, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming him to The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne on Friday 16 September for another World Cup special.”

Tables of 10 cost £750 and can be booked by contacting Ryan Heal on 07852 285238 or by emailing
