Three Rockinghorse supporters recently took on the challenge of climbing the UK’s highest mountain.
Chris Pearson and Kevin Keehan from Hove estate agents Pearson Keehan, and David Lewis of David Lewis Wealth Management, wanted to use their platform to raise money for Rockinghorse.
They also wanted to find a challenge that they could take on as a team and the Ben Nevis climb was the one, they decided on. With the summit being 4,411 feet above sea level, it’s not for the feint- hearted, but the team were determined to reach the peak and raise as much as possible in the process.
Kevin Keehan explained why they decided to support us: “The dedication and help that Rockinghorse provide to our local children and their families is unrivalled.
All staff members at Pearson Keehan are parents, with some of our children being treated at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital over the years. The care and commitment the doctors, nurses and staff provide for our younger ones is simply amazing and inspired us to raise money for this fantastic charity.”
After their climb was completed, Kevin said: “The trek itself was a fantastic experience and, fair to say, a little treacherous at times!
“En-route to the summit, we felt like we experienced all four seasons, which certainly provided us with some challenges along the way. Once we hit the peak, we didn’t hang around long as it was freezing and wet, but nevertheless, we were highly delighted to complete the challenge as a team, raising £2,565 for Rockinghorse.”
Amanda Hetherington, Corporate Engagement Manager at Rockinghorse, said: “We are so impressed with what Kevin, Chris and David have done – climbing Ben Nevis is a real challenge, so thanks to all three of them for all their effort.
“Having people within the local business community who choose to support us is wonderful and as Kevin explained, so many families have had experience of visiting the Alex, so it’s really great when they choose to support us and help other families with poorly children.”
