This year’s Rockinghorse Golf Day took place recently at Mid Sussex Golf Club, with 64 players enjoying a round of golf on the beautiful course.
The players, across 16 teams, came along to this year’s Rockinghorse Annual Golf Day at the Mid Sussex Golf Club in Ditchling on 12 May.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of the South Downs, the Mid Sussex Golf Club proved to be a fantastic venue for the teams to enjoy 18 holes of golf followed by a delicious lunch. One player even managed a hole in one!
Thanks to a range of fundraising throughout the day, including a raffle and an auction run by Sam Thomas from Sussex Business Times (SBT), the event raised thousands of pounds which will help fund ongoing projects and services to help children across Sussex.
The overall team prize was won by Trident Group, the Brighton based IT Group, winning the Rockinghorse trophy that was kindly provided by James Ross Jewellers.
Thank you to our sponsors.
The event was generously supported by the main sponsors FRP Advisory. Adrian Alexander from FRP spoke on the day and the company entered two teams, as well as sponsoring holes 1 and 10.
The media sponsor was the Sussex Business Times, with Sam Thomas from SBT speaking on the day to let all the players know more about his support of Rockinghorse.
The hole sponsors were FRP, SBT, Jonathan Lea and Groundsure.
Toby Graves from TPG Sports Events helped to run the day and we really appreciated the help from our fabulous volunteer Eve.
A perfect day of golf
Natalie Cronin, Head of Engagement at Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, was really happy with how the day went. She said, “A great day was had by all, despite the drizzle!
“Thank you to the sponsors on the day, the friendly staff at Mid Sussex Golf Club and to Toby Graves, who helped the day happen and run so smoothly.
“We are so pleased that the event raised £5,200 towards our ‘One Day at a Time’ campaign which aims to support children and young people across Sussex going through the repercussions of a cancer diagnosis and treatment.”
And remember, this is fast becoming a must-go golf event on the calendar, so please get in touch to take part or to sponsor next year’s event.
