Another quiz-tastic Rockinghorse Quiz Night!

A new winning team was crowned at this year’s Rockinghorse Quiz night at the i360 on Brighton seafront.

Our annual quiz is a real highlight of the calendar for the Rockinghorse Team and participants alike. It’s always a fun-packed event with loads of music, dancing and of course, fierce competition. And this year’s event was no different.

Taking place at the Brighton i360, and kindly sponsored by Sussex Signs, 20 teams of eager quizzers came along to pit their wits against each other and our fabulous quizmaster Gareth.

With rounds including general knowledge, sports and geography, there was something everyone could have a stab at during the evening. But it was the final music round that really got everyone involved.

After working out the artist and song from a range of lyrics, the teams were able to earn extra points by singing and dancing along to the answers that Gareth played. This meant there was a lot of fierce competition to get to the microphone first so belt out the songs.

But even if they didn’t get there in time, the whole room took part in the sing-a-long, creating a fabulous atmosphere with everyone on their feet.

After all the rounds were completed, the totting up of scores had been done, the winners were the McClean Up team from Ethos Property. With last year’s winners, the Smart Alex, a team of doctors and nurses from the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, coming a respectable fourth place.

One of the winning team members Chris Hickey, was really proud of the team’s win, “We came third last year, but we have trained all year for this moment and have taken the Smart Alex’s to the cleaners! And not a single PHD between us!”

Following the quiz, the raffle was drawn with prizes including flights on the i360, afternoon tea at Horstead Place, a canvas print from James Ward, gin and candle gift set, a photo shoot voucher and a beautiful fireworks cake made specially by Kat Bailey from 1 Page Websites.

And finally the room could continue dancing the night away with tunes being spun by DJ Xander – an absolutely fab way to finish off the evening.
