Ride for Rockinghorse

Join us for our first ever virtual cycling challenge and cycle the distance of 1,400 km from Lands’ End to John O’Groats. Or, choose a shorter, more family friendly routes – there’s something for everyone.

When gyms were shut during the various lockdowns, the sale of bikes increased and cycling became an incredibly popular activity, both outdoors and at home spin bikes.  So whether you are new to cycling or old an old hand, why not challenge yourself and join the Ride for Rockinghorse challenge whilst raising funds to help extremely sick children and babies throughout Sussex.

How it works

Pick your route:

  • Lands End to John O’Groats: 1,400 km (integrated google map of route)
  • Brighton to Brussels: 500km
  • Brighton to Paris: 250km
  • Brighton to Chichester: 50km (family friendly)

Using Strava/apple fit/Google fit, record your miles or kilometres and enter them on the leader board on our Ride for Rockinghorse Event website here. Take as long or as little as you like to complete your chosen route whilst cycling on a static exercise bike or whilst outdoors exercising under current government guidelines.

Winners of the challenge will be the first person to reach their chosen route in the quickest time, so the harder you pedal, the faster you will get there and win the race. We have prizes for the winner of each of the routes and also a grand prize for the top fundraiser.

What’s included?

Registration is £20 per person or, if a family are taking part, £30 per family.

Included in your registration fee is a beautifully designed Ride for Rockinghorse medal, access to the leader board platform, fundraising support and a small donation to Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.

For those completing the Lands End to John O’Groats route, you will also have access to Google and Strava technology which will place you on the map as you travel up the country virtually.

We are asking each participant to fundraise a suggested minimum target of £100. But anyone who manages to fundraise £200 or more will get their very own Rockinghorse branded hoodie worth £25.
